3 Must Have Home Upgrades In 2025

#1 Must Have - GE Combined Washer/Dryer

GE Profile Ultrafast Combo Washer/Dryer.

General Electric (GE) has done it. One device that can wash and dry your clothes? This is the machine. There have been attempts in the past, but this one actually works.

Never move wet clothes again.

Also - It is ventless, meaning you are not drawing air from inside your home, and creating a negative pressure. This is more energy efficient.

With the saved space you can install a few more shelves or cabinets. The best part is that the cost of the machine is comparable to a high quality washer/dryer pair!

#2 Must Have - Water Filtration System

NuAqua water filtration kit.

In the world of forever chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, medications, and more, a high quality drinking water filtration system is a must.

The three main types of filtration systems are able each remove slightly different harmful items from your water. These three are:

  1. Reverse Osmosis

  2. Activated Carbon Filtration

  3. Ultraviolent Light

You need all three to address all the items listed above.

NuAqua has you covered with every option for how to filter your water.

#3 Must Have - Home Generation Appliance

Enginuity Power Systems 8kW combined heat and power system!

This is the most amazing product I’ve seen for homes in several years. The Enginuity Power Systems 8kW combined heat and power system!

This is a natural gas electric generator. It looks like a water heater. It is the size of a water heater. The waste heat from its engine operation is used to heat your homes hot water, and to heat your home (Efficient!). It operates as a very efficient instant water heater as well.

The electricity that is generated is used to charge your whole home backup battery (think Tesla powerwall, or your electric vehicle). When the battery is fully charged, the generator can sell the power back to the grid. If you lose power, and your backup batteries die, this thing can still generate enough power to handle all the necessary appliances.

This machine literally does it all. Dump the following items in your home:

  1. Backup natural gas generator (think WASTED HEAT)

  2. Heating Boiler

  3. Hot Water Tank

This device could be the tipping point to distributed power grids.

Maintenance Reminder - Flush Water Heater

Winter is a great time to flush out the inside of your hot water tank. Get all those sediment buildups out of the tank.

A black drain hose hooked up to the left heater.

A couple of steps to do this:

  1. Hook up a hose to the drain port near the bottom of the tank. See photo above.

  2. Turn off the water to the tank.

  3. Open the drain port valve.

  4. Ensure the water is running to your drain.

  5. Open the Temperature and Pressure (T&P) valve on your tank to relieve the drain pressure.

  6. Repeat these steps once the tank is finished draining.

  7. Do this regularly to ensure your drain port does not become clogged.
